Now is the perfect time to catch up on all the podcasts you may not ordinarily have time for; and boy do we have some great suggestions for you! From Ferne Cotton’s wonderfully down-to-earth Happy Place to true crime thrillers, check out what our ANNA girls are listening to at home...
A collective favourite for many of our ANNA girls: The High Low with Pandora Sykes and Dolly Alderton, two authors discuss book recommendations and popular culture - hilarious! They also give out nuggets of juicy gossip, which we all love!
For the foodies among us, Off Menu is our go-to for a food-related fix. Comedians Ed Gamble and James Acaster invite special guests into their magical restaurant to each choose their favourite starter, main course, side dish, dessert and drink - gives great tips as well as being super funny.
A really interesting behind the scenes podcast is How I Built This - a guest format where founders of companies discuss how it all happened. From the creators of Airbnb to the founder of Lululemon. Not surprisingly they’re all pretty extraordinary people!
Anna's podcast recommendation is The Dropout - it’s about the rise and fall of Elizabeth Holmes and her company Theranos. Fascinating!
When asking the ANNA girls about their fave podcasts, over half of them said it is Ferne Cotton's Happy Place! She has some interesting guests from Dawn French to Einaudi more recently, and a great chat with Russell Brand all talking about what makes them the most happy. So uplifting!
For the true crime thrill seekers among us, Death in Ice Valley is a riveting podcast surrounding a true story about a body found in Norway 50 years ago and unraveling the mystery of who she was... A real-life Scandi Noir!
Another great foodie blog to tap into every now and then is Food For Thought by Rhiannon Lambert - a nutritionist covering all topics for a healthy lifestyle!
Having recently become a mother, Pascale (Saffron Walden) found this podcast really helpful and refreshing. Hosted by Georgia Dayton and Heart Radio's Zoe Hardman, Made by Mummas takes a really honest approach to parenthood without any judgements. Each episode they chat to a famous face or expert and discuss everything from pregnancy, birth and weaning to relationships, sleep routines and self care. They are great at asking experts all the questions you might be too afraid to!
Another easygoing choice - Table Manners with Jessie Ware is an instant mood-booster. A talk show format where celeb guests come on and discuss their lives and the food that shaped them. They’ve had everyone on from Charlotte Tilbury to the Mayor of London!
Marc Maron’s WTF podcast has incredible guests and he's able to create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere that draws a lot out of the people he speaks to. Juliette (Primrose Hill) started listening after Obama was on and has been hooked ever since.
You Must Remember This is an informative series about old Hollywood that is brilliantly researched. A definite for any cinephiles among us!
